- What is the Fixed Ops Roundtable?
- The Fixed Ops Roundtable is a free event series and community for automotive fixed operations. Ted Ings started it in May 2019 at the Center for Performance Improvement in New York. Since then it has run 34 virtual events and 29 in-person pop-ups for 68,000 attendees, and it publishes every session to a free video library of more than 1,700 panels, keynotes, and interviews.Our story
- What does fixed ops mean?
- Fixed operations, or fixed ops, is the service, parts, and collision side of a car dealership. The name comes from the steady, repeatable revenue those departments bring in compared with vehicle sales. It covers the service drive, the shop, the parts counter, the body shop, and the technicians and managers who run them.
- Do Roundtable events cost anything?
- No. Every Roundtable event, broadcast, and video is free. We never charge for a ticket, and there is no paywall on the library.Upcoming events
- How do I register for an event?
- Each event has a Register Now link that opens its Eventbrite page, where you reserve a free seat. Members get the agenda and speaker lineup by email before the event goes public, so a free account is the fastest way to hear first.Upcoming eventsBecome a member
- Where do the events take place?
- Virtual events stream online over several days, like Back to School Week on September 21 to 25, 2026. In-person Pop-Ups happen at dealerships and industry shows, including the NADA Show. The Roundtable is based at One World Trade Center in New York.Contact and office
- Can I watch sessions I missed?
- Yes. Fixed Ops TV runs around the clock on the site, and the on-demand library holds every session, panel, keynote, and interview, all free. Every session from the May 2026 event is streaming now.Fixed Ops TV
- Who is Ted Ings?
- Ted Ings is the Founder and President of the Fixed Ops Roundtable and a lifelong automotive professional. His career began in 1981 at Fette Ford in Clifton, New Jersey. He founded the Roundtable in 2019, leads the Center for Performance Improvement, and has spoken five times at the NADA Show.About the founder
- Who is the Roundtable for?
- Dealer operators, general managers, fixed ops directors, service and parts managers, technicians, industry partners, and the educators and students coming up behind them. If your work touches dealership service, parts, or collision, it is for you.
- What is the Certified Dealer program?
- The Fixed Ops Roundtable Certified program recognizes dealerships for fixed operations performance. It launched in 2023, and 35 dealerships have been certified so far.
- Is there a podcast?
- Yes. The FOR-CAST podcast has published 295 episodes since December 2020 and is available on Apple Podcasts and other podcast apps.
